About Dental Implantology
Dental implantology replaces missing teeth without using neighbouring teeth as anchors. The implant is a small post made from biocompatible titanium alloy that integrates with the bone (osseointegration). An individually designed restoration (crown/bridge/prosthesis) is then attached to restore function and aesthetics.
At Uzunov Dental, treatment is planned backwards from the ideal final tooth position: we combine 3D radiography (CBCT) with a digital scan to simulate surgery and design 3D-printed surgical guides for precise, minimally invasive placement. When bone volume is insufficient, we perform augmentation (e.g., guided bone regeneration, sinus lift) prior to or together with implant placement. Our implantology is led by Prof. Todor Uzunov and Assoc. Prof. Evgeni Alexiev. We are a certified centre for Straumann® and Zimmer Biomet® systems, and we objectively assess implant stability with the Osstell device to inform safe loading protocols.
