Dr. Dimitar Kosturkov, PhD

Dr. Dimitar Kosturkov is a recognized specialist in the field of endodontics and operative dentistry, with a focus on precise, minimally invasive treatment of dental caries and its complications - pulpitis and periodontitis. Each of his clinical cases is performed entirely under a dental operating microscope, ensuring a high level of accuracy and success.

By combining in-depth knowledge with state-of-the-art equipment - including three-dimensional imaging (CBCT), digital scanning, high-energy lasers, and 3D printing - Dr. Kosturkov has established a clinical approach in which technology is an integral part of the treatment protocol.

He holds a specialization in operative dentistry and endodontics, and has successfully earned a PhD with a dissertation on the topic “Pulse Oximetry in Dental Medicine”, offering an innovative contribution to non-invasive diagnostics in dental practice.

As a Chief Assistant in the Department of Conservative Dentistry at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Medical University - Sofia, he actively participates in the education of future dental professionals and contributes to the advancement of scientific and clinical thinking in endodontics.

Dr. Kosturkov is a regular participant and speaker at international and national congresses, courses, and workshops. As an international lecturer for Carl Zeiss and VDW Endodontics, he shares his expertise in microscopic endodontics with professionals from around the world.

He is an active member of professional and scientific communities in the field of endodontics and minimally invasive dentistry. He has served two terms on the Supervisory Board of the Sofia Regional Dental Association (SRDA of the Bulgarian Dental Union) and is a member of the SDM Association.
